In this chapter, Grant shows the main purpose of working hard and staying broke, which is to accumulate a great amount of capital so that you can make big investments plays in the future.
Grant says that it took him eight years to make a million dollars at one time, and since he had been saving everything away he was able to go all in one big play that yielded him five million dollars in one swing.
He also says that when preparing to invest in a deal, you have to make sure it's the sure thing so that you are willing to put down a huge chunk of your investment savings into one deal and on top of that you have to be confident in your ability produce income to sustain yourself that no matter what happens you will be set.
