What Happens to a Dream Deferred?

     This was a poem that was discussed in my English class and I thought it closely relates to our personal endeavors, goals, targets, dreams, aspirations. This poem teaches us not to defer our dreams. This poem teaches us what will happen to our dreams not being actively pursued. They die out. Don't ever let anyone or yourself do that! Hold on to your dreams tightly and keep on taking action towards whatever it is you want to accomplish.

A Dream Deferred

​What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore— And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over— like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
