Although this paper was done for my Psychology class, everyone should know that habits either set a person free or be enslaved to destructive behaviors. The reason why I say that is because our established habits are easy to perform, and if we can turn productive behaviors into habits then it would be a lot easier to be successful. Since formed habits are hard to break, but not permanent, it's possible to change them. Knowing this we can start to control our behaviors, the direct causation of our results.

I wrote a short motivational/inspirational poem titled, "Aspirations Are Free." That quote by Grant Cardone describes exactly what the poem is all about. Aspirations are free, but they still have to be pursued. Dreams are not going to happen by themselves, they need to have action taken on. Aspirations are the seeds of your reality, but they're just thoughts. You gotta make it happen to make it happen. You get what you give.

In essence this poem is about self-improvement.

Change is inevitable but self-development is a choice. Your entire being is constantly changing, from the millions of cells that make the physical body of who you are to your character and your situation is changing.

You cannot avoid change, but it's your choice to either grow or decay. To improve ourselves, our circumstances, our relationships, our finances, our spirituality, our health, etc. requires us to change to a deliberate direction and not by mere chance. Our self development relies on reinventing ourselves; and this poem by Charles Bukowski writes that perfectly!

     This was a poem that was discussed in my English class and I thought it closely relates to our personal endeavors, goals, targets, dreams, aspirations. This poem teaches us not to defer our dreams. This poem teaches us what will happen to our dreams not being actively pursued. They die out. Don't ever let anyone or yourself do that! Hold on to your dreams tightly and keep on taking action towards whatever it is you want to accomplish.
